Community Rules and User Agreement
Members of the PCN Community can and are encouraged to share their own experiences of raising a child that lives with a mood disorder diagnosis. Based on the sensitive nature of the information shared each member is responsible for maintaining the PCN community as a safe environment. To do so, each user must agree to the following as a condition for participation:

Maintain Personal Confidentiality in the Community. When using the PCN online community DBSA encourages you to omit any identifying information about your child. Avoid sharing your child’s name, location, school name, or any other information that could be used to identify your child. Participants who share this type of information or other information do so at their own risk and acknowledge that they do so against the recommendation of DBSA.

Maintain the Confidentiality of Others in the Community. Members in the PCN community share personal information. What is discussed on the platform should stay on the platform. You are not allowed to share, post or publish any information or content from the BMPN community to third-party platforms, websites, and services, including on social media or in any other published materials.

Maintain respect within the community. PCN members represent a broadly diverse population from all ethnicities, religions, socioeconomic status, lifestyles, beliefs, and value systems. Membership is based on inclusion, not exclusion, and therefore an atmosphere of tolerance for differences is required. Members should refrain from projecting their own beliefs or judgments on others and should be respectful of the personal choices that each member is making to support their own family.

No solicitation and promotion. Members are prohibited from any form of solicitation within the PCN community. This includes direct requests or announcements about a business or merchandising venture, request for participation in surveys, as well as indirect solicitations through posting links to business opportunities or sales.

No referrals. DBSA does not refer any of our constituents to any specific type of treatment, provider, or providing organizations. While you can share your experience of working with a certain type of provider or with a certain type of treatment, you should in no way refer another member to a specific treatment or provider. DBSA does not endorse any referrals that are posted by PCN community participants.

Do not share medical advice. You are not to share medical advice in the community. While you can discuss your own experiences with medical advice given to you, you should in no way give advice to other members. If you are a medical professional yourself, that role in no way informs your membership to the PCN community, therefore even if you are a licensed professional, you should not be using this community to share information that you would in a professional capacity.

Do not change or stop a course of treatment. No user should start, stop, or change medication or any other course of treatment for themselves or their children based on what they have read in this community or elsewhere on the internet. Information in this community is not intended to replace and does not replace the considered judgment of a licensed medical professional who knows the patient. DBSA hereby expressly disclaims any and all liability of responsibility for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential or other damages arising out of any individuals use of; or inability to use the DBSA website, social media, or information presented on the PCN platform.

Comply with Laws. All users shall be responsible for conducting their PCN community related activities in compliance with all applicable laws, rules and regulations. Without limiting the foregoing, you specifically agree that you will not make posts that: Contain profanity, racist, sexist or homophobic comments, harass or stalk any person, or contain defamatory statements or personal attacks on others; Disrupt other user’s enjoyment of the Application; Are made under another person’s name or impersonate anyone; contain any confidential information or any information that would infringe upon the proprietary, privacy or personal rights of others; breach any intellectual property rights law (including posting material protected by copyright without the permission of the copyright owner or using any words, logos or other marks that would infringe upon the trademark, service mark, certification mark, or other intellectual property rights of the owners of such marks without the permission of such owners); may be considered spamming or contain chain letters or any other form of unauthorized solicitation, including the solicitation of lawsuits; violate U.S. export laws or encourage illegal activity of any kind; or are unlawful, obscene, defamatory, threatening, harassing, abusive, slanderous or hateful to any other person or entity as determined solely by DBSA in its sole discretion.
DBSA does not pre-screen, verify or edit the content posted by users in the community. However, DBSA reserves the right to monitor any and all information transmitted or received through the community. DBSA, in its sole discretion and without further notice to you, may review, censor or prohibit the transmission or receipt of any information which DBSA deems inappropriate or that DBSA determines violates the terms set forth herein. DBSA has the sole discretion to enforce these terms.
The entire contents and design of DBSA’s Parent and Caregiver Network website, including all trademarks, logos, trade names, documents, databases, graphic representations, and information, are the property of DBSA or used by DBSA with permission, and are protected under U.S. and international copyright and trademark laws, whether a copyright, trademark, or other notice of proprietary rights appears on the screen displaying the information.
By posting material, the posting party warrants and represents that he or she owns the copyright with respect to such material or has received permission from the copyright owner. In addition, the posting party grants DBSA the nonexclusive right and license to display, copy, publish, distribute, transmit, print, and use such information or other material. Once you have made a posting, you cannot withdraw or retract the license and consents. By posting on the community, you acknowledge that the material is not confidential and agree that other users of the community may use the content you post as provided herein.
Users may save and use information contained on the site for personal use. No other use of, including distributing, copying, modifying, publishing, or re-transmitting, all or any portion of DBSA’s website or any materials or content on the site may be made without the prior written permission of DBSA or the appropriate copyright owner. For content written by others, such as user contributions, articles, or material published elsewhere, permission to reprint must be obtained directly from the publisher, author, or copyright holder.
DBSA makes no warranty, representation, or guarantee as to the accuracy or completeness of the information posted on its BMPN website. DBSA assumes no responsibility or liability in connection with the reference to, reliance on, or use or misuse of such information. The information, opinions, and recommendations presented within DBSA’s PCN website are for general information only and should not be construed as medical or therapeutic advice or diagnosis, nor as advice about treatment of any specific medical condition. Use of the Service. You agree not to use and use best efforts to not permit use of the Service, including uploading, emailing, posting, publishing or otherwise transmitting any material, by anyone, including all Users, for any purpose that may (a) intentionally menace or harass any person or cause damage or injury to any person or property; (b) involve the publication of any material that is false, defamatory, harassing or obscene; (c) violate privacy rights or promote bigotry, racism, hatred or harm; (d) constitute unsolicited bulk e-mail, “junk mail”, “spam” or chain letters; (e) constitute an infringement of intellectual property or other proprietary rights; (e) harvest or collect email addresses or other contact information of third parties by any means for the purposes of sending unsolicited e-mails or other unsolicited communications; (f) use automated scripts to collect information from or otherwise interact with the Services; (g) send or store infringing, obscene, threatening, libelous, or otherwise unlawful or tortious material, including material harmful to children or that violates of third party privacy rights; (h) use the Services to send or store material containing Malicious Code; or (i) otherwise violate applicable laws, ordinances or regulations. You agree to take commercially reasonable efforts to ensure that the Users comply with the terms of this Agreement, including this Section 3.4. In addition to any other rights afforded to the Company under the Order Form or this MSA, the Company reserves the right to remove or disable access to any Publications that violates the foregoing restrictions. The Company shall have no liability to you in the event the Company takes such action. You agree to defend and indemnify the Company and its licensors against any claim arising out of a violation of your obligations under this section.
DBSA reserves the right to terminate access to any user who does not abide by these terms. The limited license rights granted hereunder shall remain in full force and effect unless terminated or canceled for any of the following reasons: upon discontinuance of the community by DBSA or by DBSA if you violate any of the Terms.
We may make changes to these terms from time to time. When these changes are made, we will make a new copy of the terms available at [INSERT LOCATION] and any new additional terms will be made available to you from within, or through, the Community. You understand and agree that if you use the Community after the date on which these terms changed, we will treat your use as acceptance of the updated terms.
